Required Documents for Nepal NTA Type Approval
A comprehensive guide to the technical and administrative documents required for an NTA Type Approval application, based on the published NTA procedure.
The document requirements below are based on the NTA Type Approval Working Procedure (TAP-04). Exact requirements depend on your product type and current NTA requirements, which may have been updated. A pre-assessment is recommended before application preparation begins.

Technical Documents
RF / Radio Test Report or Certificate
Test reports or certification covering radio frequency performance, transmitter output power, operating frequency range and modulation. Reports may originate from the manufacturer, brand owner, authorised representative, or an accredited test laboratory or certification body.
For equipment with existing FCC, CE, RED or other international approvals, the underlying RF test reports may be submitted as supporting documentation.
EMC Test Report or Certificate
Electromagnetic compatibility test reports or certificates demonstrating that the equipment meets applicable EMC standards. Reports from the manufacturer, brand owner or an accredited testing body are accepted under the NTA procedure.
SAR / RF Exposure Test Report
ConditionalSpecific Absorption Rate test reports are required for equipment intended to be used in close proximity to the human body. The NTA procedure specifies a maximum SAR limit for applicable device categories (including mobile handsets).
Applicability depends on the product type. Confirm whether SAR testing is required for your specific product through a pre-assessment.
Safety Test Report or Certificate
Electrical and product safety test reports or certificates. These may be issued by the manufacturer, brand owner, authorised representative or a recognised testing body.
Technical Specifications and Block Diagram
A functional description of the equipment, including a circuit or block diagram. Product brochures, datasheets and full technical specifications should be included.
Softcopy (digital) versions are acceptable under the published NTA procedure.
Operation and Installation Manual
The complete operation manual, installation guide and user documentation for the product. This should reflect the version of the product being submitted for approval.

Internal and External Photographs
Photographs of the equipment, including both external views showing the product label and markings, and internal photographs showing the main components and circuit board (where applicable).
Declaration of Conformity
A Declaration of Conformity prepared in accordance with the NTA format (Annex-4 of TAP-04). The declaration commits the applicant to maintaining product conformity, providing warranty and after-sales support.
The Declaration of Conformity must be prepared in the NTA-specified format. We assist with the preparation of this document as part of the application preparation service.
Administrative Documents
Non-Refundable Application Fee
Payment of the applicable NTA Type Approval application fee. The fee schedule in the 2016 TAP-04 procedure specifies a fee amount; however, current fees may differ. We confirm the current applicable fee at the time of application.
Fees are non-refundable. Payment is typically made to the NTA designated bank account. We handle fee coordination on your behalf.
Power of Attorney
A Power of Attorney from the manufacturer or brand owner, authorising Type Approval and IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to act as the authorised local representative for the specific Type Approval application. This document must be appropriately signed and stamped.
The Power of Attorney is a mandatory requirement for foreign manufacturers. It must be specific to the application and the appointed representative. We provide the required format and instructions.
Company Registration Certificate
Company registration certificate of Type Approval and IT Solutions Pvt. Ltd. as the authorised local representative.
This is submitted as part of the representative's administrative documentation.
PAN Certificate
Permanent Account Number (PAN) certificate of the authorised local representative.
This is submitted as part of the representative's administrative documentation.
NTA Application Form
The official NTA Type Approval application form (Parts A–E), completed based on the product specifications. The form must be signed and stamped by authorised personnel.

Product Labelling Requirements
The NTA procedure specifies that approved equipment must bear a permanent and clearly visible label. Based on the published NTA procedure, the label should include:
- Manufacturer or brand name, or the name of the importing company
- Equipment type and model number
- Other quality or approval markings as specified by NTA
Current NTA labelling requirements should be confirmed at the time of application. Requirements may have been updated since the 2016 procedure document.
Modifications and New Applications
Under the published NTA procedure, any modification to an approved product that affects its conformity with the approved specifications requires a new Type Approval application. The modified product is treated as a separate product for approval purposes.
