Why Documentation Completeness Matters
NTA Type Approval applications are document-driven. Incomplete or inconsistent files are a frequent cause of delay. Exact requirements depend on product type, radio technologies and the current NTA procedure — the list below is indicative guidance based on publicly available procedure documents.
Technical Documents Commonly Required
Typical technical packages include:
- RF test reports covering the operating bands and modes used by the product
- EMC test reports aligned with the applicable standards referenced for the product category
- Safety test reports where required for the equipment type
- SAR or RF exposure documentation where applicable to the product
- Technical specifications, block diagrams and antenna information
- Product photographs and user documentation
- Declaration of Conformity aligned with the product and manufacturer details
Existing FCC, CE, RED or other national approvals and their underlying reports can often support a Nepal application, but NTA decides independently against Nepal requirements.
Administrative Documents
Foreign manufacturers typically need a Nepal-based authorised local representative. Administrative items often include:
- Power of Attorney for the local representative
- Company registration and PAN documentation for the Nepalese representative entity
- Manufacturer and brand details consistent across forms and labels
- Application forms completed in line with current NTA templates
Product Labelling
Approved products are generally expected to carry labelling consistent with NTA requirements. Label content and placement should be confirmed against current procedure before production or import planning.
